21th part: PARIS

On 16th of March, Friday morning me and my Hungarian friend traveled to Paris, from Brussels with Eurolines bus company. It is normally takes 4 hours, we started our way at 11 am. and at 3 pm. we were in the capital of France. The outside district of the city is quite dirty, but in the center is cleaner than Brussels.

After the bus we took the metro until Alesia stop, where my French friend lives. I know her also from my Turkish Erasmus semester, we rented a flat together in the 2nd semester. She was also really helpful and kind, she offered to stay in her place during our trip in Paris. Actually she is from Bordeaux, but now she is studding in Paris, and where she lives is so near to the center, in one of the best location. We just left our bag packs in her flat, and we went to explore the city! In this was was 24 degrees in Paris!

  1. Notre Dame

  2. Latin Quartier – Cité

  3. Louvre – Mona Lisa

  4. Champ de Mars – Tour Eiffel

  5. Montmartre – painters street

  6. Sacré Coeur

  7. Pigalle – Moulin Rouge

  8. Champs Elysée

  9. Arc the Triomphe

  10. Concorde

  11. Tuileries Garden

  12. Catacombs

  13. Sorbonne University

We went back to the flat in the evening, because there are so many things to do. Nelly, my friend was so happy to see my again and me too. We talked a lot about what happened after Erasmus and how good was there, next traveling destination and etc. She promised she will come to Hungary on day :) Next morning she prepared a breakfast for us, we were so surprised and happy about it. The breakfast was French croissant and cookies, orange juice and coffee. That was a nice beginning, after we went to the Eiffel tower where we had to wait 3 hours to get to the top. But unfortunately the weather was worst than the day before, it was windy and almost raining. Anyway we went to the top of the tower! The view was amazing, you can see all Paris, the Arc the Triomphe, the river Seine, and Champs Elysée etc. if somebody saw the movie: Midnight in Paris, it is exactly like this :) so romantic, the time is running, so many thing to do, 4 days was almost not enough to explore everything. You need to spend there at least 4 days but more strongly recommended.

They best for me the Latin Quartier, the old part of the city, Montmartre also beautiful. Fillister head everywhere, cobble stones on teh streets, the Seine so calm, the light is refracted along the river, nice bridges, huge buildings in the shadows of french style architectures as Le Corbusier. Everything is different there, we also explore two famouse meeting point: cafe de Flore, and Les Deux Magots where Ernest Hemingway, Luis Bunuel, Salvador Dalí, Pablo Picasso, Camus visited.
